When talking about studying, doing physical exercise might be the last thing you think will benefit our kids. However, a study has proven that students who regularly exercise do better in school and have healthier minds.

Benefits of physical exercise for studying

So, how is that possible? Is there any benefit of physical exercise for our kids’ learning ability? There sure are, here’s the list.

Better concentration

Having time away from study, doing something completely different can help kids to focus when they do sit down to study again. Getting their energy out is essential!

Increase energy levels

Another benefit of doing physical exercise for studying is that it increases your kid’s energy levels. It means they will have more energy to study at any time. People who are more active tend to have more energy throughout the day.

More resistant to stress

Consistent exercise has been shown to decrease stress. Proper exercise will strengthen your kid’s mental capability. Hence, they will be more resistant to stress, including from studying.

Boost memory

A study has shown that exercising regularly can help your brain produce the protein that boosts your memory. That’s why students who exercise regularly tend to memorise lessons better.

(We’re about maths here not science, but see the article above for more details!)

Better mood

The last benefit of exercising is that it puts students in a better mood for the rest of the day. We can all agree that you feel better after exercising, so make sure you encourage your kids to get outside!

Conclusion

Exercising regularly has many benefits for your child’s learning, there’s no reason to fear it! Try to make the exercise fun and engaging for them. You can let them play some sports with their friends, take them for a walk in nature, or even try a fun new exercise at home.
